Published on 01/09/2016

September marked the SVP’s annual awareness month, the theme this year asking “Who Cares?”

With a focus on loneliness, hunger, material poverty and sickness, the campaign highlighted the work of the SVP’s 8,000 volunteer members who make 1,200 visits day to people in need, providing them with friendship, practical assistance and spiritual care.

A series of features and case studies were published in the press to support the campaign which can be accessed via the links below:

Catholic Times

  • ‘Showing care for everyone in need’

Catholic Herald

  • ‘Visiting the sick can ease pain and suffering’
  • ‘Don’t forget to feed the hungry this month’
  • ‘It’s not just the homeless who go to bed hungry at night’
  • ‘SVP volunteers bring solace to those with nowhere else to turn’

Independent Catholic News
