Centre manager with primary school children in uniform
We are proud to have strong relationships with local schools and youth groups in Southend.

We believe that the young generation are at the heart of real sustainable change as they are the future. We have developed a strong bond with local schools and Mini Vinnie groups who often hold fundraisers for us, send our hostel residents thoughtful cards and organise events to raise awareness about the work that we do at the SVP.

What we will do support you as a school
  • We can arrange a fun trip for classes or RE groups to St Vincent's Southend so students can see what we do. We will organise activities and everyone donates £1 to the centre.
  • Opportunities to work with school councils to plan an action plan so they can become active citizens.
  • We can host assemblies about local concerns and how to become active citizens of our community.
  • We also do mental health assemblies and how we can support people's mental health. We look at why it is so important to support your mental health as a child.
  • ECO assemblies that look at how you can impact our community.
  • We can provide harvest assemblies.
  • We can look at how working on an allotment can support our wellbeing.
How can your school get involved?

There are lots of fun way to get involved with the centre. We've put together a list of activities/fundraising ideas to help you get started. You'll be raising funds for a great cause, supporting our work with the Southend community and have a great time whilst doing so!
