SVP England and Wales is closely monitoring the Covid-19 outbreak and its impact on our work in the coming weeks and months. We are taking all steps necessary to ensure the safety and wellbeing of the people we help, members, staff and other volunteers while continuing to operate and assist those in need.
All SVP community shops, depots and support centres remain closed to the public, with some support centres operating on skeleton staff.
We are currently planning how to safely re-open our St Vincent’s community shops in line with government guidelines. The safety of our customers and staff are our priority and we want everyone to feel safe and confident when we re-open our doors. Thank you for your patience and for holding onto your donations at home until we are able to accept them, we look forward to seeing you all soon!
As part of Government guidelines to ease restrictions we have carried out Covid-19 risk assessments for our current sites and services.
During the Covid-19 crisis, some of the usual ways the SVP operates have changed:
If you need help from the SVP, we will still try our best to assist you. However, for the time being we may offer help that avoids direct person-to-person contact in order to reduce the risk of infection.
If you would like to help people in need during the current Coronavirus crisis, please visit our Crisis Help page.
If you are an SVP member, we have prepared special guidance for you. This can be found on the Conference Bulletin Board in the members’ area (If you don’t know your login, please contact us on 07551 441752). All other SVP volunteers and staff should speak to their managers about the issue.
