SVP England and Wales is closely monitoring the Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak and its impact on our work in the coming weeks and months. We are taking all steps necessary to ensure the safety and wellbeing of the people we help, members, staff and other volunteers while continuing to operate and assist those in need.
Update on 24 March, 2020: Following Government guidelines, we have made the difficult decision to temporarily close all SVP community shops with immediate effect. We are grateful for your continued support during this time. We look forward to reopening our doors when it is safe to do so.
During the current Coronavirus outbreak, some of the usual ways the SVP operates may be different:
If you need help from the SVP, we will still try our best to assist you. However, for the time being we may offer help that avoids direct person-to-person contact in order to reduce the risk of infection.
If you would like to help people in need during the current Coronavirus crisis, please visit our Crisis Help page.
If you are an SVP member, we have prepared special guidance for you. This can be found on the Conference Bulletin Board in the members’ area (If you don’t know your login, please contact us on 07551 441752). All other SVP volunteers and staff should speak to their managers about the issue.
