More Information About Our Camp
About Our Site

Located on the outskirts of Mablethorpe town centre in Lincolnshire, we have a purpose-built dormitory that sleeps up to 48 children, alongside our dining room with dedicated kitchen facilities and a separate toilet and shower block. Separate staff accommodation is also provided. We have a central playing field, large enough for most sporting activities and we have pool tables and a newly extended veranda area with games equipment such as table football, hockey and basketball for use during free times.

Activities

We have a reasonably action packed schedule (which is highly adaptable to the unpredictable British summertime weather) including activities on the beach, day trips out to organised fun activities such as swimming and bowling, organised on site sports/team building activities ran by Grimsby Town Football Club’s Sports and Education Trust, treasure hunts and apprentice style challenges, arts and crafts, evening games (such as bingo, play your cards right and take your pick) and trips into town for souvenirs.

Cost

The cost of the camp is £80 per child and includes coach transport (from designated pick up locations) to and from camp, accommodation and all meals and activities. Children can bring “pocket money” to purchase souvenirs/presents and additional treats if they so wish. Children will be supervised on the journeys by Camp Helpers on the coach.

Our Team

All our camps are run by a designated camp leader, who is supported by a dedicated team of volunteers who give their time and services freely, and many of whom perform specific roles on camp including First aid officers, chefs/cooks, safeguarding lead, and maintenance.

A number of our staff came to camp as children themselves and keep coming back to give other children the sort of experience they enjoyed, others are teachers/youth workers, and all are motivated by the fantastic impact that the Camp can make on the children who attend, and work as hard as they can throughout the week to make sure that all the children in their care are safe and are having a brilliant time. We want the week that the children spend at camp to be one they will remember fondly for the rest of their lives. Some of our more experienced staff have been helping now for over 5 decades!

All staff/helpers are subject to an enhanced DBS check (Police Clearance) and no helper is allowed on camp until this check has been successfully completed. A selection process is in place and all staff undergo annual training in Safeguarding, Health and Safety and Ethos. Sadly this means that visitors are not allowed.

Food

Mealtimes are important for Camp! Lots of energy is used exploring new places and we make sure helpers are on each table with the children to make sure no-one goes hungry! A team of dedicated volunteers cook all the meals during the week and ensure that a considered and balanced diet of homemade and tasty food is available at each mealtime, and we make every attempt to provide alternatives for specific diets (eg vegan, vegetarian, allergies and on religious grounds) fresh fruit and juice/water are available in the dining hall at all times for any child who wants anything between meals too.
