Applications are now closed for 2023 Camp

Thank you to everyone has applied for the 2023 Camp - we are all looking forward to a fun filled week!

Applications for the 2024 Camp will open around Easter 2024. For updates please check this page or follow us on Twitter (twitter.com/svpleeds)

We only accept referrals for suitable children from SVP members or by an agency such as a school or social services. We do not accept applications for children directly from their parents/guardians. If a parent/guardian deems that their child would benefit from attending the Camp then they must approach an SVP member, a Social Worker or a member of staff at their school. The person must know the child as they are required to assess the child's suitability.

Further Information
Who runs the Camp?

The Camp is run by a group of approximately 40 volunteers who give their time for free, motivated by the fantastic impact that the Camp has on the children who attend. They work hard throughout the week to make sure that all the children in their care are safe and having a brilliant time. Helpers come from a diverse range of backgrounds and jobs, with teachers, accountants, police officers, builders, pharmacists, surveyors, engineers, nurses and many more. Many helpers even came as children when they were younger!

What aged children can attend?

The camp takes place in August and we accept children from those who are aged 8 at the time of camp, or will turn 8 before 1 September up to children who are 13 years old. (i.e. from those who have finished year 3 and are about to enter year 4 up to those who have finished year 8 and about to enter year 9).

Who can attend the camp?

The children's camp runs to support children who would otherwise not receive a holiday. This may be due to family or financial difficulties, or because the child would benefit from some time away from the home environment, for a variety of reasons.
