What to expect

We want to encourage a family atmosphere at Liverpool Camp. Therefore, each group of ten children shares transport, tables at mealtimes and dormitories. They also do many of the week’s activities as a group, with their own group leaders and helpers.

Activities for the week take place both on and off site and include climbing and abseiling, canoeing/rafting, a low ropes course, a nightline course, go-karting, river crossing, the “Crocky Trail”, Zumba dancing, Samba drumming and T-shirt printing. Most days, we also take advantage of the various swimming pools and leisure pools in the area.

Each day starts with a communal breakfast followed by activities, games and challenges, with a particular theme based on the activities of the day. After a full day we reconvene for the evening meal, followed by free time for games on the field.  Then we have the evening activities followed by some quieter games and competitions.

We set aside a couple of sessions to celebrate individual children for their achievements or qualities they have displayed during the day. On the last night, each group acts out a section of the paraliturgy, highlighting the individual themes of the day. This is followed by a show where each child performs as part of a group, providing a few original verses for the “camp song” of that year. This is night comes to an with each group performing their own act, usually a song and dance - a perfect end to their activity-packed week!
