We operate over 40 community shops across England and Wales and they are a major part of our support for local communities. They provide affordable goods, employment and volunteering opportunities.
All SVP community shops remain closed to the public.
We are currently planning to safely reopen our community shops in line with government guidelines. The safety of our customers and staff are our priority and we want everyone to feel safe and confident when we reopen our doors.
Thank you for your patience and for holding onto your donations at home until we are able to accept them, we look forward to seeing you all soon!
St Vincent's community shops may resemble charity shops, but their purpose goes beyond raising funds for the SVP. Our shops are primarily situated in areas of deprivation and serve local communities, selling affordable goods and offering a listening ear to individuals and families in need.
The shops also offer local employment and volunteering opportunities, provide a visible presence of Christian concern and reduce wastage of materials that would otherwise end up in landfills.
Donations of clothing and other household goods are always welcome at our shops.
Our shops are generally open between 9:00 am and 4:30pm Monday to Saturday, but please check locally for details as opening hours do vary. You can find more information about your local community shop in the map below.
Volunteer at a St Vincent's community shop
As we look to safely reopen our St Vincent's community shops in line with Government guidance, we are recruiting volunteers to help us through this critical time.
Our shops will look a little different when we open our doors, but we will still have plenty of volunteering opportunities.
Typical tasks will include:
- Serving customers
- Displaying stock on the shop floor
- Preparing, sorting and pricing donations
- Working on creative window displays!
Whatever your background or talent, we have a role for you. If you are interested and would like to learn more about volunteering at your local St Vincent's, please get in touch by emailing us at email@example.com.
