Cause for the Canonisation of Blessed Frederic Ozanam

Publishing details of people for whom we are asked to pray serves two purposes. Perhaps the more important one is that this is a way in which we can express our solidarity as a Vincentian family with those who are sick, be they members, our family and friends or those whom the Society seeks to assist.

As the term “Cause for the Canonisation” suggests, we also pray that if someone suffering from an “incurable” illness is restored to health, this may be seen as a sign of God’s favour on Blessed Frederic being declared a saint by the Church.  Blessed Frederic gained the prefix “Blessed” when he was beatified by Pope John Paul ll at Notre Dame in Paris, during World Youth Day on 22nd August 1997.

Details of how to request prayers for anyone who is sick are given on each monthly Newsletter.
