The SVP (England & Wales) is helping protect the education of thousands of vulnerable children and young people in India, by raising funds through the Student Sponsorship Scheme.
An article published in The Catholic Times describes how the SVP is sending money to help Indian families who have lost their main breadwinner through injury or loss of life sustain their children's education, by paying for school materials and fees.
Donors can also sponsor young people wanting to study a vocational course such as engineering, medicine or nursing. This helps the wider Indian society develop their infrastructure, and care for their local population.
