William had been homeless for three years and was pleased to finally have a place to call his own. But he struggled to furnish his empty flat in Sheffield after using his Universal Credit payments to cover bills and buy food. William was referred to St Vincent’s Furniture Store by a partner agency for support and within a few days, St Vincent’s delivered a bed, dining room table, chairs and other household items. He was delighted with the items he received as they made his flat feel more like home.
With this vital delivery of furniture, St Vincent’s supports people like William who are moving on from homelessness, get off the streets for good. “Many people who have been homeless for some time really struggle to adjust to running a home and managing bills and can find it very overwhelming, so any help is greatly appreciated,” William’s referral agency said.
