The Brentwood Camp provides an opportunity for children to have an exciting, activity-packed camping holiday in the Essex countryside setting.

The site is set in over forty acres of Essex countryside and is owned and maintained by SVP volunteers. Children live in tents, in groups of seven or eight and the entire week is taken up with a full programme of planned and supervised activities.

2021 update

Due to the ongoing investment in new facilities at St Vincent’s Camp Brentwood, the Camp will, sadly, not be ready for visitors during 2021. However, the work at the Camp will ensure it is fit for purpose as a fully mixed venue.

While this will come as a disappointment to many people, we remain committed to providing full facilities at St Vincent’s Camp Brentwood in 2022.

Further Information

Who runs the Camp?

The Camp is run by a group of volunteers who give their time for free, motivated by the fantastic impact that the Camp has on the children who attend. Each week we have between 40-70 full time helpers that visit the camp. They work hard throughout the week to make sure that all the children in their care are safe and having a brilliant time. Helpers come from a diverse range of backgrounds and jobs, with teachers, lecturers, policemen, builders, lawyers, surveyors, engineers, nurses and many more. Many helpers even came as children when they were younger!

Age Limits

We accept children who have reached their 9th birthday but not passed their 12th birthday on the day that they travel to camp.

Expected Contribution

The camp is run on a totally voluntary basis and we endeavour to keep the cost of sending a child as low as possible. In addition we carry out fundraising activities that contribute towards the running costs.

The expected contribution is £160 for a child to stay at camp for a week. This contribution includes travel from the pickup location, 3 cooked meals and all activities during the week.
