THOUGHT FOR THE WEEK

“If the Holy Spirit is guiding the… Church – and this cannot be doubted - why would we not follow the light of [the] Spirit, who makes known how we must act in these uncertain circumstances[?]”

Vol. 4 Letter 1345 p183

Warning! Internet fraudsters at large!   175th Anniversary celebrations!

It has recently come to our attention that a group of people claiming to represent the St Vincent de Paul Society here in the UK, are approaching members of the public in the US, via the internet and email, in an attempt to solicit illegal funds.

If you have been approached by anyone suspicious claiming to represent the SVP please contact Matthew Stockton at National Office immediately on 020 7407 4644 or e-mail matthews@svp.org.uk.

This year we celebrate the 175th Anniversary of the founding of the St Vincent de Paul Society by Frederic Ozanam and his companions. Visit our History section to find out more about how and why Frederic set up the Society, following in the footsteps of St Vincent himself.

In addition to our annual National Meetings and our Mass of Rededication in Cardiff, the Society will be holding an Awareness Month in September and celebrating the Anniversary at a series of local and national events.
