News & Events

Thank you to all our jumpers and those who helped with support and sponsorship.

On the 4th September 2009 seven brave souls took to the skies (12,000 ft in fact!) and landed safely on their feet in the name of charity. Roy Maine, Meg Larvin, Laura Jayne, Ola Craig, Sean Taverner, Steve Whitley and Matthew Stockton met bright and early at the airfield in Maidstone, Kent. Some had travelled from as far as Manchester! Each of our brave jumpers patiently waited amongst nerves and prayers for the grey clouds to clear.

Finally by 4pm everyone had safely landed on their feet. Laura said this was “ an experience I will never forget! I can't believe I actually did it! Thank you to everyone who sponsored me. Now I've faced my fears and raised funds for a great cause at the same time. Brilliant!” Friends and family of the ‘jumpers' also turned up to offer support and calm their nerves. The totals are still rolling in, but it is estimated that together we raised over £6000.

Roy Maine celebrated his 70 th Birthday two weeks after his jump and said “Looking down from the plane was pretty terrifying but it was an amazing experience. I'd definitely do it again!”

On 26 th November Fr Clive Lee will follow in their foot steps, also jumping 12,000 ft in Maidstone.  If you would like to sponsor Fr Clive, please go to www.justgiving.com/frclive . If you would like to join Fr Clive in the jump, or you would like to book another day, at another airfield closer to you, please contact Jessica Bray on 020 7407 4644.
