Week of Prayer for Christian Unity - 18th-25th January

Next month sees the 100th Week of Prayer for Christian Unity taking place, an opportunity for Christians of different denominational backgrounds to join together in unity to pray for peace and reconciliation, both within the Church and the world.

The week of prayer traditionally takes place between the 18th-25th January and lasts for 8 days. Often new local initiatives crossing denominational boundaries emerge out of meeting and praying together in this way.

The theme of the week this year is "Pray without ceasing" and the aims of the week are to:

•  pray as Christ prayed "that they may be one"

•  To pray for the unity of all Christian people as we share in Christ's ministry.

Readings and meditations for the week focus on Paul's advice to "pray without ceasing".

Resources for the week, produced by Churches Together in Britain and Ireland are available to download from the CTBI website.
