Warning! Fraudsters approaching SVP Members in England!

National Office has recently been notified of a young couple who have been travelling around England posing as a brother (who is going by the name “Christopher”) and sister in need of financial assistance to help them with accommodation costs. They have been approaching members of the Society, whose details they claim to have obtained from the SVP National Office.
Somehow they have obtained the names of the members they are approaching and also have claimed to know other SVP members. We are unsure how they have obtained the personal details of members and we are currently investigating this.
Please note that National Office will not pass on members’ names or details through the Request for Help system, so please treat anyone making such claims with suspicion and get in contact with National Office immediately to verify if such a claim is being made.
