There is a light that will never go out...
It is with deepest regret that we announce the following death:
George Rimmer 1917-2009
George Rimmer was born in Saskatchewan Canada in 1917 and died on the 30th. October 2009 aged 92.
He was one of five children having four sisters.
In 1928 his family had to return to England due to his father having contracted M.S.
He was an executive engineer with Post Office Telecommunications and during the war was a chartered electrical engineer with the Royal Signals spending three years in Sri Lanka (then known as Ceylon)
George joined the SVP conference at the church of The Immaculate Conception Epping in 1951.
In 1960 he moved to Formby Lancashire and it was there that he joined St. Anne’s Freshfield SVP conference where he was an active member for forty seven years holding the positions of President, Secretary and Treasurer.
He was awarded a gold medal by the SVP around 2001 for his fifty years service.
He is survived by his wife Pat and three sons and daughter.
