Southwark Central Council

Southwark Central Council covers the area of the RC Diocese of Southwark, comprising London Metropolitan Boroughs (south of the Thames) and the County of Kent. There are 63 Conferences in the area, divided between 11 District Councils (see below), with a total of 572 members.

Local Company donating to SVP via sales of Management Training DVD

Joan Henshaw, President of Mortlake Conference, Richmond DC has kindly arranged for 10% of profits from the sale of a training DVD her company sells, 10 Minute Management Toolkit, to go to the SVP up until the end of March. You can visit her website at http://www.10mmt.com.

For the period up to 31 March 2010 these donations will be made to the SVP, specifically to support the Baby Feeding Programme in Sudan. If you know anyone who may be interested in the training DVD please point them in the direction of Joan's website!

Festival Meeting

Festival Meeting at St Georges Cathedral in Southwark, 3.00pm on Sunday 9 September 2007. Mass was celebrated by Father John Lavery Spiritual Director Diocese of Southwark, Father James Periera SFX and concelebrants Father Don Coleman and Rev Fred Carter. The meeting continued after Mass in the Amigo Hall.
All members, auxiliaries, friends and those interested in the work of the SVP at home and overseas were welcome to attend. Other SVP Conference Priests and Deacons were also invited.

Southwark Festival Meeting, St George's Cathedral, 9th September 2007

 

Members and friends enjoyed the Southwark Festical Meeting, which was held at St George's Cathedral last Sunday 9th September.

SVP Conference representatives lit candles from the Regeneration Candle used at the Westminster National Mass of Rededication held at Westminster Cathedral in April last year. These votive candles are lit at Conference meeting before the opening Prayers.

An SVP cake was baked for the occasion  

The SVP cake was made by members of the Thornton Heath Conference ( Croydon DC ) and enjoyed by the 150 members and Friends present.

 

Festival Meeting

Festival Meeting at St Anselm's Tooting Bec.

Members, Family, Friends and supporters of the SVP were made welcome at the Festival meeting, which was held at 3.00pm on Sunday 22 April. There was a talk on SVP in Sudan by Ian Maudsley after Mass.
