Become a Friend of St Vincent
Friends of the SVP
The Friends of the SVP scheme was officially launched at the start of 2006, with the aim of raising funds and awareness about the Society and its work. It is an ideal way for people who would like to support the work of the Society but cannot spare the time to become a member, or for members who would like to make a regular contribution to support the SVP.
By becoming a Friend of the St Vincent de Paul Society, you can ensure that some of the most excluded people are given a chance to have a better life, whilst contributing positively to the future of this work.
As a Friend of the SVP, you will also benefit from:
- Regular Friends Newsletters
- Invitation to local SVP Festival Meetings and Society events in your area
- Access to mail order for SVP Christmas Cards, books and other spiritual literature
- A Mass is offered for Friends and their families on the feast of St Vincent de Paul on the 27 th September each year
Over ¾ of all Friends are able to Gift Aid their donations, which means that every pound given is worth an additional 28p! This support is making a huge difference to the Society and its work providing assistance to people in need.
We need your financial and personal support to help build a better future for people in need and create lasting solutions to tackle poverty.
To become a Friend of the SVP simply download and complete our Friends' membership application form.
Alternatively you can help us to promote the Friends scheme by handing out leaflets at recruitment appeals, fundraising events or at church collections. Friends forms can be ordered from our National Office by calling 020 7407 4644.
"I would urge you to become a friend of the SVP. We cannot all give our time to the SVP's vital work. But we can make it possible for others to do so. By enabling its 10,000 volunteers to express their faith through practical assistance to the vulnerable and needy, you will be a vital link in the SVP's chain of compassion."
