Youth Development
| “Welcome all young people who want to live their faith in a practical manner by helping the poor.” Blessed Frederic Ozanam - the Society's Founder |
The activities undertaken by Youth SVP members include:
- Visiting the elderly at residential homes
- Organising play sessions for adults with special needs
- Supporting peer education at school
- Gardening for the elderly and housebound
To help the personal development of Youth SVP members there is the opportunity to attend an annual residential, Camp Vincent, as well as a variety of regional events.
IN 2009/2010, there were approximately 2,500 young people between the ages of 11 and 25 undertaking voluntary work with people in need in the local community as members of a Youth SVP group.
