The SVP provides breaks for children and families who would not otherwise be able to have a holiday.
During 2005-2006, the Society organised and ran:
- 6 Children's Camps
- 10 Caravans
- 1 holiday centre with full disabled facilities
1,776 children attended SVP summer camps and 195 low-income families (308 adults and 465 children) had the opportunity of taking a fully inclusive holiday in an SVP caravan.
In addition, the Ozanam Centre in North Wales offers holiday accommodation for children, families, disabled groups and others all year round. In 2005 - 2006, 1,686 adults and children attended the Centre. Over the year external funding was also secured to improve the facilities, including the establishment of a small chapel on site, disability access to the dipping pond and the provision of archery equipment and a climbing wall.
