SVP 1833 activities...

What we do

At SVP 1833 we are involved in various volunteering activities to help people in need in our local community.

Here are some examples of what we do:

  • Befriending the lonely and housebound
  • Soup runs /early morning food and drinks runs
  • Help for the homeless in night shelters
  • Resource-centres for people with special needs, disabilities or addictions
  • Support for refugees and asylum-seekers
  • Learning support in schools or home tuition schemes
  • Hospital chaplaincy work as visitors and Eucharistic ministers

As members we meet regularly, often with a spiritual adviser, who may be a University chaplain or an experienced SVP member, to reflect on our activities in the light of the Gospel.

There are also great opportunities for us to get together with members from other Conferences.
